Fitspiration…or something

You guys.  This is serious.

I’m trapped in a universe obsessed with being thinspired.  I can’t scroll through my newsfeed without learning how the apples I’m eating or the soda I’m drinking are going to send me to an untimely (and horrible) death.  I’m being bombarded with both 21 day fixes and 28 day challenges that will immediately improve my life if I am willing to spend $500 on their programs.  Okay, $500 is an exaggeration, but COME ON.  $200 for some protein powder and tupperware???  Cynical Mollie is not impressed.  And if those friendly reminders weren’t enough to make a girl crazy, I have collected a tribe of friends that includes fitness models, yoga instructors, personal trainers, marathoners, clean eaters, and (the worst of the worst) former fatties who changed their lives and now hold the unsolicited keys to my wellness success.  They’ve lived it, so they know it.  Obvs.  I say all this with love, and you know, mad props to people who have changed their lifestyles for the better despite the fact their self righteous posts and large egos are now annoying as hell.  But I do thank your motivational instagram quotes and daily reminders that #strongisthenewskinny from my devoted #fitfam-ers.

It might seem odd that someone who is clearly so annoyed with the entire genre of fitspiration would begin a blog with the title FitGirlMolz.  Let me explain.  I have been many sizes in my life, but currently, I would describe my size as chubby.  Adventurous in  fitness, I am always down to try a new fitness class, diet, or program just to see what all the hype is about.  I am here solely as a place to keep all of my thoughts along my personal fitness journey as well as through my personal journey through adulthood.  This blog is a place for me to recount experiences at the gym or in classes, meal prep and slip ups, as well as all the normal everyday stuff that gets in the way of being super fit.  And to the devoted meal prepping, gym loving fitness freaks – yes things can get in the way of being fit.  I know that you make time for what’s important to you, but sometimes that’s Game of Thrones. (AmIRite?!?)

And also because my life is so ridiculous, I’m sure peppered into the fitness talk will be fun caveats from my day to day.  Because everything ties together, I’ve outlined a few things you need to know about me.  I work for a pharmaceutical company, and my territory is high travel.  I’m on a plane every other week.  I live in sin with my boyfriend in Las Vegas (see what I did there?) with our dog and 2 cats and a lizard.  I love animals more than people.  Carbs, Wine, and Sugar are my downfalls.   These are all the things you need to know about me…for now.
